KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO MARYWOOD, 3-1
SCRANTON -- Marissa Ruda scored two goals and host
Marywood University overcame a 1-0 deficit to post a 3-1 victory over
King's College in a non-conference women's soccer matchup Wednesday in
Scranton.
With the win, Marywood improved to 10-7 overall while King's slipped to
6-9-3.
King's would take a 1-0 lead just 6:00 into the contest when Kaitlin
Wilcox struck net for the Lady Monarchs off an assist by Annie Drimones. Marywood would answer
when Kristen Powers scored off an assist from Annie McDonald 11 minutes
later. The Pacers would take a 2-1 half-time lead when Ruda scored
the first of her goals with just 3:00 left in the opening stanza.
Marywood would tack on an insurance goal by Ruda at 83:00 to seal the
victory.
Marywood outshot King's 14-8 while the lady Monarchs held a 4-3
advantage in corner kicks.
King's will close out its season Friday at 3:00 p.m. when the Lady
Monarchs host FDU-Florham as part of Homecoming Weekend at King's.
