KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER TIES ARCADIA, 1-1 IN 2 OT's

WILKES-BARRE -- Kaitlin Wilcox scored the lone goal for King's College as the Lady Monarch soccer team battled Arcadia University to a 1-1 double-overtime tie Monday at Betzler Fields.

By registering the most ties in a season in program history, King's stands at 6-8-3 on the year while Arcadia is 7-7-3.

After a scoreless first half, King's nearly took a 1-0 lead early in the second stanza when Lisa McMillan bounced a shot off the crossbar.  Arcadia would finally push across the game's first goal with 22:29 remaining when Marie O'Neil scored  off an assist by Stephanie Bates following a corner kick.  King's would tie the score with 18:54 left when Kaitlin Wilcox drilled in a pass from Cindy Smallwood just under the cross bar.

Neither team would score during the course of two 10-minute overtime periods.

Arcadia outshot King's 18-12 and held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.  King's goalie Christine Uhl was outstanding in net with 12 saves, including four from point-blank range.

The Lady Monarchs will travel to face Marywood University Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. in Scranton.
