FALL 4-0 AT SUSQUEHANNA
SELINSGROVE -- Host Susquehanna University
broke open a scoreless game at the half with four second half scores as
the Crusaders posted a 4-0 victory over King's College in a
non-conference women's soccer matchup Tuesday in Selinsgrove.
With the win, Susquehanna improved to 5-5-2 while King's fell to 4-6-2.
After both teams failed to score after the opening half, Susquehanna got
on the board at 56:17 when Erin Coffey struck net off an assist from
Lindsay Knowlton. The Crusaders upped the lead to 2-0 when Abby
Montgomery score on a crossing pass from Amber Welborn at 65:08.
Susquehanna would close out the game with goals by Tory Weiss at 87:00
and Brooke Jones with just 0:19 remaining.
Susquehanna outshot King's 17-2 and held a 6-2 advantage in corner
kicks. King's goalie Christina Uhl made seven saves while Crusader
goalie Meredith Tompeck had two stops.
King's will next host DeSales University Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at
Betzler Fields.
