KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER DEFEATS NEUMANN, 5-1
RADNOR -- Freshman Adrienne Stine scored two goals
to power the King's College women's soccer team to a 5-1 victory over
host Neumann College MOnday evening at Cabrini College.
With the win, King's improved to 3-1-1 on the year while Neumann fell to
2-4. The game was originally scheduled to be played at Neumann but
was moved to Cabrini after the Knights' field was deemed unplayable due
to heavy rains.
Neumann’s Casey Geary opened the scoring at a time
of 12:53 after receiving a pass from Brittany Barley (Lancaster, Pa.
/Lancaster Catholic) putting Neumann ahead 1-0 in the first half.
King's would battle back however when Stine fired a shot past Neumann
keeper Kelsey Toomey, tying the game at 1-1 at the 40:49 mark. Less than
two minutes later, Stine struck again at 42:20, allowing the Lady
Monarchs to take a 2-1 at the break.
The score would remain the same until 56:38 when
Rachael Donatello struck net to increase the Lady Monarch lead to 3-1.
Sara Coletta and Lisa McMillan would also score second half goals to
bring the final score to 5-1.
King's will be back in action Thursday when the Lady Monarchs return to
Freedom Conference play with a 4:00 p.m. matchup at Wilkes University.
