KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER TIES DEL-VALLEY, 1-1
DOYLESTOWN -- The King's College women's soccer
team opened up their 2006 Freedom Conference schedule with a 1-1
double-overtime tie with host Delaware Valley College Wednesday in
Doylestown.
With the tie, King's stands at 2-1-1 overall and 0-0-1 in Freedom
Conference play. Delaware Valley, which was a Freedom Conference playoff
qualifier last season, stands at 0-4-1 and 0-1-1.
The Aggies opened the scoring at 32:29 of the first half when Christine
DelTurco scored on an assist from Elise Dauber. King's would knot the
score at 1-1 at 58:52 when Kaitlin Wilcox struck net off an assist by
Adrienne Stine. Neither team would score throughout the remainder of
regulation and two overtime periods.
King's owned a 32-12 advantage in shots while holding a 9-6 advantage in
corners. Lady Monarch goalie Christine Uhl made six saves on the day.
The Lady Monarchs will return to action Friday with a 4:00 p.m. contest
at Lancaster Bible.
