KING’S WOMENS SOCCER LOSES 3-1

Hackettstown, NJ-- The King’s College women’s soccer team dropped a 3-1 verdict to Centenary College in Hackettstown, NJ on Saturday.

Centenary got out to an early lead with two goals in the first half, one from Lisa Stankiewicz and another by Clare Johnson assisted by Tanya Di Donna.

King’s would answer as junior Cynthia Smallwood scored an unassisted goal at the 54:41 mark in the second half. The Lady Cyclones would put the game out of reach scoring one more time at the 66:48 mark in the second half with a goal from Michelle Yerkes.

King’s outshot Centenary 18-11 in the game. Lady Monarch goalie junior Chrstine Uhl had five saves. Centenary had four corner kicks, while King’s had three.

The Lady Monarchs will return to action Wednesday when they travel to Delaware Valley College for their first Middle Atlantic Conference game at 4:00 pm.
