KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER STORMS PAST BAPTIST BIBLE
SCRANTON -- The King's women's soccer team
broke open a 1-1 tie at the half by scoring three goals in the second
stanza
to secure a 4-1 win against Baptist Bible on the second day of
the Marywood University Coca Cola Classic.
The victory gave the Lady Monarchs the championship at the inaugural
event. Both King's and Marywood finished the tournament with
respective 2-0 records but the Lady Monarchs were awarded the title by
virtue of goal differential.
Leading the way for the Lady Monarchs
was freshman Adrienne Stine with one goal and one assist. Sophomore Lisa
McMillan, junior Cynthia Smallwood, and freshman Rachel Donatiello added
one goal a piece.
King's outshot Baptist Bible 21-14.
Freshman forward Adrienne Stine was named the tournament's Offensive
Most Valuable Player while sophomore Lisa McMillan and junior Liz Martin
were named to the all-tournament team.
King's will return to action Tuesday when they
travel to Neumann College for a game at 4:00pm.
