KING'S MCMILLAN NAMED FIRST-TEAM ALL-FREEDOM CONFERENCE
WILKES-BARRE
-- King's College freshman Lisa McMillan, Massapequa, NY,
concluded the finest rookie year in program history as the Lady Monarch
standout was named a first-team All-Freedom Conference women's soccer selection.
McMillan, who became the first King's player to earn first-team status
since Jill Hockenbury in 1997, helped the Lady Monarchs improve from
4-14 a year ago to 7-12 in 2005. The seven victories were the most for a
King's women's soccer team since the 1997 squad went 12-7.
On the year, McMillan led King's in both total points and goal,
finishing with 28 points on 13 goals and two assists.
Her 13 goals were third most in one season in King's history, standing
two behind Hockenbury's 15 goals in 1997. Hockenbury also stands second
at King's with 14 goals in 1995.
McMillan's four goals against Lincoln University on September 10 was the
second most in program history, trailing Meghan DeRosa's mark of five
goals against Keystone in 2003.
McMillan's 28 points also ranks third in King's history. Equaling the
mark of DeRosa in 2002 and trailing Hockenbury's marks of 39 points in
1997 and
35 points in 1995.
McMillan, a physician assistant major, came to King's after leading
Massapequa High School to the 2004 New York state championship.
