KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO SCRANTON, 2-0
WILKES-BARRE -- The University of Scranton
broke open a scoreless game with two second-half goals as the Lady
Royals edged visiting King's College 2-0 in an MAC Freedom Conference
matchup Thursday at Fitzpatrick Field.
With the win, Scranton improved to 6-8-2 overall and 4-2 in the Freedom
Conference. King's slipped to 7-10 and 0-5.
After a scoreless opening 45:00, Scranton got on the board when Laura
Gibbons scored off a corner kick from Sarah Wright with 28:17 left in
the contest. The Lady Royals added an insurance goal with 15:25
remaining when Robyn Nagel scored off a crossing pass by Jessica Beha.
Scranton outshot King's 27-5 and held a 8-0 advantage in corner kicks.
King's will next host Delaware Valley College Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at
Betzler Fields.
