KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER EQUALS 2003 WIN TOTAL WITH SHUTOUT OF PHILADELPHIA BIBLE

WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's soccer team broke open a scoreless first half with two second-half goals as the Lady Monarchs posted a 2-0 victory over visiting Philadelphia Bible University Tuesday at Betzler Fields.

After both teams failed to score in the opening stanza, Amanda Hart put King's on the board with an unassisted goal with 34:11 remaining. Jen Beams then struck net off an assist from Jen Toth to seal the victory.

King's freshman goalie Christine Uhl picked up her first collegiate shutout by making seven saves. Philadelphia Bible (0-4) outshot King's 13-12 and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.

The Lady Monarchs improved to 2-4 on the year and equaled the win total from last season.

The Lady Monarchs travel to Hackettstown, NJ Saturday to face Centenary College at 1:00 p.m.
