KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER EQUALS 2003 WIN TOTAL WITH
SHUTOUT OF PHILADELPHIA BIBLE
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's soccer
team broke open a scoreless first half with two second-half goals as the
Lady Monarchs posted a 2-0 victory over visiting Philadelphia Bible
University Tuesday at Betzler Fields.
After both teams failed to score in the opening
stanza, Amanda Hart put King's on the board with an unassisted goal with
34:11 remaining. Jen Beams then struck net off an assist from Jen Toth to
seal the victory.
King's freshman goalie Christine Uhl picked up her
first collegiate shutout by making seven saves. Philadelphia Bible (0-4)
outshot King's 13-12 and held a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks.
The Lady Monarchs improved to 2-4 on the year and
equaled the win total from last season.
The Lady Monarchs travel to Hackettstown, NJ
Saturday to face Centenary College at 1:00 p.m.
