LADY MONARCH SOCCER TEAM POSTS 1-0 WIN OVER DESALES

WILKES-BARRE -- Freshman Christine Collins scored the game's lone goal just 7:55 into the contest as the King's College women's soccer team ended the 2002 season with a 1-0 MAC Freedom Conference victory over visiting DeSales University Sunday at Betzler Fields.

Collins scored when her shot to the upper left-hand corner of the net went passed the outstretched arms of DeSales goalie Melissa Levash with what proved to be the eventual game-winning goal.

DeSales outshot King's 13-12 but Lady Monarch goalie Liz Ball was outstanding in making nine saves to record the shutout win. The Bulldogs also owned a 6-1 advantage in corner kicks but the Lady Monarch defense performed admirably in aiding Ball in the shutout.

King's ended its season with a 4-15 overall record as well as a 1-6 MAC Freedom Conference record. DeSales fell to 5-12 and 1-6 in conference play.
