LADY MONARCHS DROP ONE ON THE ROAD
WILKES-BARRE -- The Women's soccer team of
King's college dropped a game to SUNY-Farmingdale this afternoon by a
score of 5-1. The Monarchs record now stands at 1-2.
Junior Midfielder Kelly Puffenberger scored the
lone goal for King's. The goal came in 19th minute of the match. The one
goal was not for a lack of trying. Freshman Becky Chateauneuf led all
players in shots, taking five, putting three of them on goal. Megan
Inama and Sara Coletta both helped the offensive effort with two shots
apiece.
Goalkeeper Sara Ciarlo earned her keep making five
saves in all 90 minutes of the match.
The Lady Monarchs are back in action this coming
weekend when they take on the visiting Lady Falcons of Cedar Crest
College. Kick off for that match is set for 7:00pm under the lights at
the new turf field at the Betzler Fields Sports Complex.
