CHATEAUNEUF NAMED PLAYER OF
THE WEEK
WILKES-BARRE, PA --
King''s freshman Becky Chateauneuf was named the Freedom Conference
Player of the Week for her play in week-one of the season.
Chateauneuf led King’s to a 1-1 week including a second-place finish in
the Hood College Invitational. In the opener, King’s upset host Hood 4-3
as Chateauneuf scored three goals, including the game winner 8:56 into
the extra session. She became the first player in King’s history to
score three goals in her first collegiate game. Chateauneuf was held
scoreless in the championship game as King’s lost to Mississippi College
2-0. Mississippi College was 17-6 last season.
The Lady Monarch’s
are on the road this week against SUNY-Farmingdale on Thursday at
4:00pm, and then back home on Saturday September 6th. Kickoff
is set for 7:00pm under the lights at the new turf surface at Betzler
Fields.
