KING'S WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS IN TOURNEY FINAL
FREDERICK, MD -- Anna Clark came off the bench
in the second half to break open a scoreless game with two goals in a
0:20 span to lead Mississippi College to a 2-0 victory over King's
College in the championship game of the
Kim
Servedio Women’s Soccer Tournament at College, Frederick, Md.
Mississippi, which was 17-6 a year ago, improved to 2-0 while King's evened its mark
at 1-1.
The team splayed scoreless through the first 45 minutes of play. Clark
would come off the bench in the final period and scored unassisted at
the 57:13 mark. Moments later, Clark would convert a through pass
from Kim Kaim into a 2-0 lead.
The Mississippi defense would keep the Lady Monarchs at bay the rest
away to preserve the victory.
King's freshman goalie Sara Ciarlo made 11 saves, including seven in the
second half.
The Lady Monarchs return to action Thursday when the team travels to
Long Island, NY to face SUNY-Farmingdale at 4:00 p.m.
