2007 King's College Summer Youth Soccer Camps

The Lady Monarchs will begin a new era in 2007 with the hiring of head coach Chris George. Coach George was hired in February, 2007 after serving as King's men's soccer assistant coach during the 2006 campaign.

The women's soccer program has made significant strides the past few seasons.  After going 2-18 in 2003 and 4-14 in 2004, the team went 7-12 in 2005 and then 6-10-3 in 2006 with squads comprised primarily of underclassmen. The program's future looks bright with a crop of young, talented players led by Lisa McMillan who became the first King's player to gain first-team all-conference honors as a freshman, then repeated as a sophomore in 2006.

Women's soccer made its varsity debut at King’s in 1992, earning a 7-7 record in its inaugural season and becoming an increasingly popular spectator sport ever since. The Lady Monarchs have been a competitive team in the Middle Atlantic Conference since their inception and the program figures to continue improving as it grows. Individually, several King’s players have made a name for themselves among the MAC as several Lady Monarch players have been named Freedom Conference all-stars since the program began.

King’s faces a rugged a 18-20 game schedule and play its home games at Robert L. Betzler Fields, regarded as one of the top facilities in the MAC. The Lady Monarchs face one of the strongest schedules in the conference with matches against powerful Scranton, Widener, and Drew, as well local rivals Wilkes, Misericordia, and Marywood.

King's competes for an opportunity to qualify for the Freedom Conference Championships as the top four teams from within the conference earn post-season berths.

In 1999, the NCAA restructured its national tournament criteria and began awarding the Freedom Conference winner an automatic berth into the NCAA Division III National Championships, increasing King’s chances of competing at the national level.

King's women's soccer players have also been outstanding in the classroom as 54 team members have been named to Middle Atlantic Conference All-Academic Teams since 1993.
