KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE ROUTES MORAVIAN IN
SEASON FINALE
WILKES-BARRE -- Senior
Lindsay Sabo (left) netted five
goals and dished out four assists and fellow senior
Sara Alesso score four goals in
their final collegiate games as the King's College women's lacrosse team
ended their season with a 21-9 victory over visiting Moravian College
Saturday at Betzler Fields.
With the win, King's concluded its season with a 6-9 overall record and
a 3-7 Middle Atlantic Conference mark. Moravian, meanwhile, stands
at 2-13 and 1-9 in the MAC.
Alesso
(right) netted all four goals in the first half while Sabo tallied three
goals and two assists during the first 30 minutes as the Lady Monarchs
built a 14-7 half-time lead.
Sarah Veneski posted three goals with two assists to aid the King's
attack. Reanna Lachner added three goals and one assist while Melissa
Gates also registered three goals for the Lady Monarchs. Michelle
O'Brien scored two goals with one assist while Eric Kovats chipped in
with one goal. King's goalie Heather Kelly made 11 saves on the
day.
Moravian was led by Lindsey Lustrino with four goals and one assist
while Kayla Carson and Casey Simpson added two goals each for the
Greyhounds. Katie Wise made 12 saves in net.
Sabo, meanwhile, concluded her brilliant career with a nine-point game,
bring her school-record career marks to 305 points on 197 goals and 108
assists.
