KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO SUSQUEHANNA
WILKES-BARRE -- Visiting Susquehanna University
broke open a game tied at 12-12 with five straight goals as the
Crusaders posted an 18-14 victory over host King's College Tuesday at
Betzler Fields.
With the win, Susquehanna improved to 5-7 overall and 4-6 in the Middle
Atlantic Conference. King's, meanwhile, fell to 4-9 and 2-7.
King's held an 8-7 lead at the half and 9-8 with 20:32 remaining. The
game was also tied at 10-10 and then again at 12-12 when the Crusaders
tallied five unanswered goals over a 4:57 span to built a 17-12 lead
with 5:15 left.
Melissa Gates led King's with four goals while Lindsay Sabo, Reanna
Lachner and Michelle O'Brien netted two goals and one assist each.
Heather Kelly made 13 saves in goal for the Lady Monarchs. Keri Niedt,
Erica Kovats, and Sara Alesson tallied one goal each for King's.
Susquehanna was led by Rachel Devilbiss with five goals and two assists
while Mary Minuni contributed four goals. Dana Mulvihill chipped in with
two goals and two assists. Crusader goalies Jess Weiss and Kirstyn
Mahoney played one half each and combined for 13 saves.
King's will next host College Misericordia Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at
Betzler Fields
