KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE DROPS CONFERENCE OPENER
TO LYCOMING
WILLIAMSPORT -- The host Lycoming College women's
lacrosse team opened up a 8-3 half-time lead and held off a second half
King's College rally to post a 15-12 victory in a Middle Atlantic
Conference matchup.
With the win, Lycoming improved to 6-0 overall and 2-0 in the MAC while
King's slipped to 1-3 and 0-1.
Lycoming would build a 14-5 lead on a goal by Crystal Cody with 10:04
left. But King's would respond with seven straight goals to close to
within 14-12 but Megan McIntyre would put the game away for Lycoming
with a goal in the final minute of play.
McIntyre led Lycoming with four goals and an assist on the day while
Sarah Wingerden added three goals and one assist. Megan Wallenhorst
contributed a team-high three assists with a goal for Lycoming while
Kristina Peacock tallied 11 saves and eight ground balls in goal.
King's was led by senior Lindsay Sabo who had four goals and one assist
on the afternoon. Sarah Veneski followed with two goals and one assist
while Keri Niedt added two goals. Sarah Alesso netted one goal with two
assists while Erica Kovats chipped in with one goal. Heather Kelly
made eight saves in goal.
