KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE EDGED OUT IN OPENER BY
MUHLENBERG, 12-10
ALLENTOWN -- The King's College women's
lacrosse team opened the 2007 season with a solid effort, but dropped a
narrow 12-10 loss to host Muhlenberg College Thursday in Allentown.
Muhlenberg took a 9-7 half-time lead and held off King's in the second
half as each team scored three goals during the second stanza.
Lindsay Sabo led King's with five goals, one assist, and five ground
balls while Reanna Lachner netted two goals. Sarah Veneski netted one
goal with one assist while Keri Niedt and Michelle O'Brien chipped in
with one goal each while Shannon Ellis contributed five ground balls.
Heather Kelly made 13 saves for the Lady Monarchs.
Ruth Morrongiello led Muhlenberg with five goals and one assist while
Taylor Armstrong added one goal and three assists. Sara Hiller and Katie
Reimann netted two goals each for the Mules. Rachel Danziger made
10 stops in net for Muhlenberg.
