KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE NAMED DI-III TOP-RANKED ACADEMIC TEAM
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's lacrosse team has been listed
as the number-one ranked Division III academic team in the nation
according to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association.
In the IWLCA rankings, King's posted the highest team grade-point
average of any team in Division III with a 3.49, narrowly topping
Haverford (3.44) and Claremont-McKenna (3.43).
Additionally, six Lady Monarch players were named to the IWLCA National
Honor Roll. To be nominated, players must have at least a 3.20 GPA and
be a junior or senior member of their school's respective team. Those
players from King's include seniors Mary Beth Clark, Kristen Greene, and
Kim Triftshouser, along with juniors Patrice Cote, Rachel Agzigian, and
Teresa O'Brien.
King's recently concluded its most successful season ever as the Lady
Monarchs posted a school-record 11-7 mark while qualifying for the
Middle Atlantic Conference playoffs for the first time ever.
