KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE FALLS TO WIDENER, 19-11
CHESTER -- The King's College women's lacrosse team
closed out the regular-season with a 19-11 loss to Widener University in
a Middle Atlantic Conference contest Saturday in Chester.
With the loss, King's slipped to 11-6 overall and earned the sixth seed
in next week's MAC playoffs with a 5-5 mark in conference play. Widener,
meanwhile, claimed the fourth seed after improving to 8-6 overall and
7-3 in MAC play.
Grace King paced the lady Monarchs with three goals on the day while
Lindsay Sabo contributed two goals and two assists... Melissa Gates
netted a pair of goals with one assist while Patrice Cote, Kim Murray,
and Kristen Greene tallied one goal each. King's goalie Mary Beth
Clark made 14 saves.
King's will make its MAC playoff debut Tuesday when the Lady Monarchs
travel to face Scranton at 5:00 p.m. at Fitzpatrick Field.
