KING'S WOMEN'S LAXERS SECURE FIRST-EVER MAC PLAYOFF BERTH
WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College women's lacrosse team secured its
first-ever Middle Atlantic Conference playoff berth with a 12-10 victory
over host Lycoming College Saturday in Williamsport.
With the win, King's extended its school record for victories in one
season by improving to 10-4 overall and 5-3 in the MAC. The Lady
Monarchs also reached the MAC playoffs for the first time in program
history since women's lacrosse joined the MAC in 1998. Lycoming slipped
to 3-9 and 1-7 in the MAC,
Freshman Melissa Gates led King's with four goals and two assists while
Lindsay Sabo added two goals and three assists. Grace King netted three
goals while Kim Murray added two, Patrice Cote scored one goal while
Kristen Greene dished out two assists.
Senior goalie Mary Beth Clark made four saves.
King's will next host the University of Scranton Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. at
Betzler Fields.
