KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE DROPS OPENER TO DIVISION II
MERRIMACK
HILTON HEAD, SC -- The King's College women's
lacrosse team opened the 2005 season with a solid effort in a 17-8 loss to
Division II Merrimack University in Hilton Head, SC.
Sophomore Lindsay Sabo led King’s with four goals and an assist. Kim
Murray, Grace King, and Jenifer Marrosu all added one goal for the Lady
Monarchs. Freshman Melissa Gates also scored a goal for King's.
Alison Colarusso scored seven goals to lead the
Merrimack (1-0) while Amanda Simeone followed by scoring three goals and
adding three assists. Kate Condon and Erin Black added two goals and an
assist for the Warriors, who outshot the Lady Monarchs 26-16.
Lawana DaCosta made eight saves to pick up the win.
