KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE DOWNS FDU, 13-10

WILKES-BARRE -- Kristen Greene scored four goals while Kim Murray added three goals and two assists to power the King's College women's lacrosse team to a 13-10 victory over FDU-Florham Tuesday at Betzler Field.

With the win, the Lady Monarchs improved to 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the Middle Atlantic Conference.

King's jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Greene and Erica Kovats. The Devils countered with three straight goals to take a 3-2 lead with 9:30 left in the opening half. But the lady Monarchs answered on a goal by Lindsay Sabo and another goal from Murray with 4:17 on the clock as King's took a 4-3 lead into the halftime break.

In the second half, the Murray scored just 1:00 minute into play to ignite a 6-0 spurt. Kovats and Kelly Ilardi would score to push the lead to 7-3 with 26:48 remaining before Murray, Sara Alesso, and Greene tallied goals to extend the Lady Monarch lead to 10-3.

After an FDU goal, Lindsay Sabo and Greene scored as King's lead grew to 12-4 with 13:39 left. Greene would scored her final goal off a Murray assist with 8:19 left to give the Lady Monarchs a 13-5 lead and allow coach Kathy Kerr to substitute freely for the remainder of the game.

Sabo and Kovats finished with two goals each while Alesso added a goal and assist.

King's will return to action Thursday when the Lady Monarchs host Elizabethtown College at 4:00 p.m. at Betzler Fields.
