KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE OPENS WITH WIN OVER MISERICORDIA

DALLAS -- The King's College women's lacrosse finally made its season debut and the Lady Monarchs responded in a big way by posting a 17-6 victory over College Misericordia Tuesday in Dallas.

King's held a slim 6-4 lead at the half but the Lady Monarchs outscored the Cougars 11-2 in the final frame to seal the victory.

Freshman Kim Murray posted a team-high four goals while adding two assists to pace the lady Monarchs. Sophomore Patrice Cote followed with three goals and an assist while Kristen Greene added two goals and three assists.

Kelly Ilardi and Sara Alleso both netted two goals each while Cindy Koder, Lindsay Sabo, Erica Kovats, and Pam Wright all chipped in with one goal. Alleso and Kovats also contributed with an assist. Lady Monarch goalie Mary Beth Clark made six saves on the day.

King's, which has its first three games postponed due to inclement weather, will travel to face Susquehanna University on Tuesday.
