KING'S WOMEN'S LACROSSE TEAM FALLS TO MESSIAH
WILKES-BARRE -- The King’s College
women’s lacrosse team wrapped up the 2008 season as the Lady Monarchs
dropped a 17-5 decision to visiting Messiah College Saturday at Betzler
Fields. With the loss, King’s ended its season with a 3-13 overall
record and a 2-6 mark in Middle Atlantic Conference play. Messiah,
meanwhile, improved to 9-6 and 6-2 in league games.
Kara Geiman led the Falcons with four goals and one assist while Bethany
Moskevitz also tallied four goals.
King’s was paced by Grace King with two goals and one assist while
Melissa Gates added two goals. King moved into second place all-time at
King’s with 139 career goals in her fine career, moving past Michelle
McKeon’s mark of 138 from 1998-2001. Alicia Cox also scored a goal for
the Lady Monarchs.
King’s goalie Heather Kelly made 14 stops on the day setting a new Lady
Monarch single-season record with her 177th save of the year,
surpassing the previous record of 168 saves by Meghan Andres in 2002.
