WYCHOCK BREAKS SEASON GOALS MARK AS KING’S DOWNS MANHATTANVILLE
WILKES-BARRE
– Debbie Wychock set a new school-record for goals in one season as the
King’s College field hockey team downed Manhattanville College 7-2
Saturday at Betzler Fields.
With the win, King’s improved to 10-2 overall and 2-1 in Freedom
Conference play. Manhattanville slipped to 5-6 and 1-1 in league play.
Wychock tallied three goals in the contest, scoring her 26th
of the season with 26:38 left in the contest. The score enabled her to
surpass the previous school record of 25 she shared with Lindsay Sabo
set by both players in 2006.
Wychock also added an assist in the contest, giving her an NCAA leading
56 points on the season and moving her to within five points of equaling
her own mark of 61 set in 2005. She also upped her career scoring mark
to 151 points, standing just six shy of Sabo’s career scoring mark of
157 points set from 2003-06 at
King’s.
King’s also received strong play from freshman Jenera Quinones who
scored two goals and one assist in the game. Sophomore Danielle
Terracciano also tallied two goals for King’s.
