WYCHOCK POWERS KING'S FIELD HOCKEY
TO 4-1 WIN OVER NEUMANN
WILKES-BARRE -- Debbie Wychock score three goals to power the King's
College field hockey team to a 4-1 victory over visiting Neumann College
in the first-ever official game ever played on the new synthetic turf
surface at Robert L. Betzler Fields.
With the win, King's improved to 2-0 while Neumann fell to 0-2.
King's took a 1-0 lead just 5:55 into the game when Wychock scored off a
feed from Christina Glenn.
In the second half, the Lady Monarchs would build a 2-0 lead at 36:42
when Wychock scored on a center pass from Danielle Terracciano. Neumann
would cut the lead to 2-1 when Megan Mazur scored unassisted at 39:15.
King's would respond when Glenn drilled a shot from just inside the
circle past Haviland to stretch the lead to 3-1. Wychock would
close out the scoring at 56:45 when she struck net off an assist from
Heather Kozimor.
King's goalie Erin McGinley made five save to record the win in her
first King's start.
The Lady Monarchs return to action Saturday with a 12:00 noon home
contest against Arcadia University at Betzler Fields
