KING'S FIELD HOCKEY FALLS TO SCRANTON 1-0 IN OT

SCRANTON  --  Sarah Scott knocked in the only goal of the game in overtime as the University of Scranton posted a 1-0 victory over King's College Wednesday evening at Fitzpatrick Field.

The game had originally scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on King's natural grass field but was moved to Scranton's artificial turf field for a 7:00 p.m. game after the Lady Monarchs' field was unplayable due to the rain.

With the win, Scranton improved to 6-11 on the year while King's slipped to 12-4 and saw its seven-match win streak come to an end.

After a scoreless 70 minutes of regulation Scott tipped in a rebound off a save from King's goalie Kari Leach for the decisive score after 7:04 had expired in the first overtime frame.

Scranton outshot King's 16-8 while King's held an 8-7 advantage in penalty corners.

King's is scheduled to close out the regular-season Saturday with a 12:00 noon home game against FDU-Florham at Betzler Fields.
