KING'S FIELD HOCKEY WINS THRILLER IN DOUBLE OVERTIME AT MANHATTANVILLE, 2-1

PURCHASE, NY -- Senior Megan Farrell scored two goals, one the game winner with one second remaining in the second overtime, as King's College edged Manhattanville College 2-1 in double overtime Saturday afternoon in Purchase, NY.

With the win King's improves to 12-3 and 5-0 in league play, while Manhattanville slips to 8-9 and 1-4 in league play.

Manhattanville struck first on a goal by Jen Ascencio at the 42:09 mark of the first period. Farrell would tie the game on her first goal at the 54:41 mark of the second period off an assist from senior Grace King. The teams would battle through the first overtime and into the second overtime before Farrell netted the game winner off an assist from junior Christina Glenn.

King's outshot Manhattanville 27-18, while holding a 15-11 advantage in corners. King's goalie Kari Leach was strong in net with 10 saves.  

King's will return to action Wednesday when the Lady Monarchs host the University of Scranton for a game at 3:00 pm at Betzler Fields.
