KING'S FIELD HOCKEY
CRUISES BY DELAWARE VALLEY, 6-1
WILKES-BARRE -- Senior Debbie Wychock scored three goals and senior
Sarah McGrady added two more goals as the King's College field hockey
team posted a 6-1 win against Delaware Valley Saturday afternoon at
Betzler Fields.
With the win King's improves to 7-3 on the year.
McGrady started the scoring for King's with a goal
at the 33:41 mark of the first period off an assist from senior Ave'
Moran. Wychock would add her first goal at the 30:34 mark of the first
period giving King's a 2-0 lead. Delaware Valley's Bethany Pavlick cut
into the lead with a goal at the 27:24 mark of the first period. McGrady
closed out the first half scoring with a goal extending King's lead to
3-1 at the half.
Wychock would add two more goals off assists from
senior Megan Farrell, extending the lead to 5-1. Junior Christina Glen
capped of King's scoring on a goal with 3:28 left to play.
King's outshot Delaware Valley 18-9, while
Delaware Valley held a 12-7 advantage in corners. Junior goalie Kari
Leach had five saves in net for the Lady Monarchs.
King's will return to action Tuesday when the Lady
Monarchs travel to Marywood University for a game at 4:00 pm.
