KING’S FIELD HOCKEY DOMINATES STOCKTON 8-1

 

(Pomona, NJ) – Megan Farrell (Clarks Summit/Lackawanna Trail) scored two goals and dished one assist to lead King’s College (2-0) to an 8-1 victory over Richard Stockton (0-2) today.  Sarah McGrady (Plymouth/Nanticoke) also netted two goals while Ave’ Moran (Florence, NJ/Holy Cross) finished with a goal and two assists for the Monarchs.  King’s goalkeeper Kari Leach (Milford/Delaware Valley) notched 10 saves in the win.

 

Debbie Wychock (Wilkes-Barre/Coughlin) opened the scoring 9:20 into the game with an assist by FarrellMcGrady and Amanda Schwartztrauber (Vestal, NY/Vestal) added first-half goals to give King’s a 3-0 lead at intermission. 

Farrell
tallied two goals in the second half while Moran, McGrady and Danielle Terracciano (Columbus, NJ/Northern Burlington) each scored once as King’s rolled to an 8-0 lead. 

Stockton freshman Ashley Engle foiled the shutout bid with a goal on a penalty corner after time had expired.  Goalkeeper Debi O’Kane (Cologne/ Absegami) made seven saves for the Ospreys.

King’s will play its next game at Misericordia on Wednesday at 4 pm.
