SABO NAMED TO NFHCA ALL-REGIONAL TEAM
WILKES-BARRE -- King's
College field hockey standout Lindsay Sabo
(Milford/Delaware Valley) has been selected to the
STX/National Field Hockey Coaches Association South Atlantic Region Team
as a second-team selection.
A senior forward, Sabo led King's to a school-record 19-4 record as well
as the program's first-ever Freedom Conference championship and NCAA
Division III National Tournament berth,
On the year, Sabo scored 59 points on a school-record 25 goals with nine
assists and was selected as the Freedom Conference "Player of the Year"
for the second straight season. She is also a three-time
All-Freedom Conference selection and two-time All-Regional choice.
Sabo concluded a storybook career at
King's by finishing as the program's all-time leading scorer with 157 points, while also establishing
school-records in career goals (61) and career assists (35).
She also owns or shares King's single-game
record for goals (5), assists (4), and total points (12).
Sabo is also an outstanding student with a 3.98 grade-point average and
was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American Team last year.
"We are very proud of Lindsay and all she has accomplished during the
course of her career," King's coach Cheryl Ish stated. "She has been an
extremely hard worker in everything she has been involved with on and
off the field and has been an absolute pleasure to coach. She played a
major role in helping to put King's field hockey on the map and her
presence will be sorely missed next year."
