FIVE KING'S FIELD HOCKEY PLAYERS NAMED TO
ALL-FREEDOM TEAM
WILKES-BARRE -- Five members of King's College field
hockey team have been selected to the 2004 All-Freedom Conference Team.
King's players chosen included first-team choices
Kylie Rosengrant of Tunkhannock and Danielle Rivera, along with
second-team selections Lindsay Sabo, a Delaware Valley graduate, Coughlin
product Amanda Jez, and Jen Gimble of Wyoming Valley West.
Rosengrant led King's field hockey team to a 10-6
record by anchoring a defense which allowed 1.87 goals per-game on the
season and just 0.67 goals in Freedom Conference games. Rivera, a freshman
goalie, earned the honor despite not becoming King's starter until the
seventh game of the season. The Lady Monarch rookie posted a 0.99
goals-against average on the year while allowing just 0.67 goals per-game
in conference action.
Sabo led King's in scoring for the second straight
season with 31 points. The sophomore forward scored 10 goals while setting
a school-record with 11 assists on the year. Jez, a junior forward who
earned first-team honors in 2003, scored 16 points on four goals and eight
assists. Gimble, who was also a first-team choice last year, enjoyed
another solid year on defense for King's and chipped in with adding two
assists.
