FIORINO NAMED MAC FREEDOM PLAYER OF THE WEEK

-- King's College sophomore guard Kaitlyn Fiorino (North Brunswick,
NJ/Immaculata) has been named the MAC Freedom Conference Women's
Basketball "Player of the Week", the MAC Office announced today.
Fiorino enjoyed a fine season-opening performance
in leading King’s to the team championship at the prestigious eight-team
Marymount Tip-Off Classic. After finishing 13-13 last season, King’s
went 3-0 in the event, defeating a 2006 NCAA Division III national
tournament qualifier each round.
In three games, Fiorino averaged 21.3 points 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0
assists per-game. In the finals, she netted a career-high 27 points and
was named the tournament Most Valuable Player as the Lady Monarchs
defeated Mt. St. Mary’s 76-65.
King’s also defeated State University of Athletic
Conference champion Oswego 59-54 and New Jersey Athletic Conference
titlist Richard Stockton 46-39 during the tournament.
