KING'S WOMEN ROUTE LYCOMING, TIE THREE-POINT
RECORD
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's
basketball team raced out to a 54-23 lead and never looked back as the
Lady Monarchs routed visiting Lycoming College 90-51 Wednesday in
Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win, King's improved to 16-6 overall and 8-3 in the Freedom
Conference. The Lady Monarchs also moved into sole possession of second
place in the league as DeSales was upset by FDU-Florham 71-67 Wednesday
evening. Lycoming fell to 7-15 and 2-9 in league action.
The Lady Monarchs scorched the nets, making 53.2 (33-62) percent of
their shots while converting 14 three-pointers, equaling the
school-record its set on January 5 in a victory against Arcadia
University.
Jenna Palumbo tallied a team-high 21 points on 7-of-9 shooting while
making 5-of-6 from three-point range. Kaitlyn Fiorino added 20 points
while Andrea Hochstuhl and Casey Heitman netted 14 points each. Lauren
Kendra was also outstanding for King's with four points, 10 rebounds,
and nine assists.
Lycoming was led by Jessica Nabholz with 12 points and six rebounds
while Jessica Zerbee added 10 points.
King's will travel to Drew University Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in Madison,
NJ.
