HOCHSTUHL EARNS THIRD STRAIGHT FREEDOM
CONFERENCE PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR
WILKES-BARRE -- King's College women's basketball
standout Andrea Hochstuhl has been named the Freedom Conference "Player
of the Week" for the third straight week, the Middle Atlantic
Conferences Office announced Monday.
A 6-foot junior center, Hochstuhl enjoyed another
outstanding week in leading King’s to a 2-0 mark with a pair of Freedom
Conference victories with her 11th and 12th double-double
(points-rebounds) of the season. In a 84-58 win over Drew, she scored
posted team-highs to 20 points and 10 rebounds while adding four
assists, three blocks, and two steals. In a big 86-79 road win over
Delaware Valley, Hochstuhl netted 23 points and 12 rebounds while
chipping in with one assist, one block, and two steals. In the process,
she registered her fifth consecutive double-double and scored in
double-figures for the 14th straight game. She also helped the Lady
Monarchs to their ninth straight victory as King’s improved to 14-5 and
6-2 in Freedom Conference play.
For the week, she averaged 21.5 points. 11.0
rebounds, 2.5 assists, 2.0 steals, and 2.0 blocked shots per-game while
shooting 60.8 (14-23) percent from the field.
Hochstuhl and her Lady Monarch teammates will
return to action Wednesday when King's travels to face arch-rival
Scranton at 6:00 p.m. in the John Long Center.
