KING'S WOMEN DOWN DREW BEHIND HOCHSTUHL'S
DOUBLE-DOUBLE
WILKES-BARRE -- Junior center Andrea Hochstuhl
registered her 11th double-double of the year to power the King's
College women's basketball team to a 84-58 victory over visiting Drew
University Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium/
With its eighth straight win, the Lady Monarchs improved to 13-5 overall
and 5-2 in Freedom Conference play. Drew slipped to 8-9 and 3-4 in
league action.
King's would build a 36-23 half-time lead as the Lady Monarchs shot 50.0
(14-28) percent from the field thanks to an 11-point effort from Casey
Heitman. Hochstuhl would dominate the second half by scoring 16 of her
20 points over the final 20 minutes as King's cruised to the victory.
Hochstuhl added 10 rebounds on the night and contributed four assists,
three assists, and two blocked shots in the process. Heitman was
outstanding off the bench for King's with 14 points on the strength of
4-of-6 shooting from three-point range.
Brittany Atzert also made a solid contribution with 10 points. Kaitlyn
Fiorino and Jessica Paettie also chipped in with eight points each.
Lauren Kendra also registered six points, five rebounds, five assists,
and three steals.
Drew was led by Courtney Cunningham and Melissa Kraft with 16 points
each while Allison Hartnett added 11 for the Rangers.
The Lady Monarchs will travel to Doylestown on Saturday to face Delaware
Valley College at 1:00 p.m.
