KING'S WOMEN WIN SIXTH STRAIGHT WITH 64-43 WIN OVER LYCOMING

WILLIAMSPORT -- The King's College women's basketball team won its sixth straight game with a 64-43 victory over host Lycoming College Wednesday at Lamade Gymnasium, Williamsport.

With the win, King's improved to 11-5 overall and 3-2 in Freedom Conference play.  Lycoming fell to 5-11 and 0-5 in league games.

Both teams struggled offensively in the first half as King's could muster only a 23-18 lead at the break. The Lady Monarchs would pick up the pace in the second stanza, outscoring the Warriors 36-24 over the final 30 minutes of play.

Andrea Hochstuhl topped King's with 19 points and a career-high 17 rebounds while adding six blocked shots.  Jenna Palumbo netted 14 points, five assists, and six rebounds. She also connected on two three-pointers and moved to 57 on the year, standing just two shy of setting a new Lady Monarch single-season record.

Lauren Kendra was outstanding for King's, scoring nine points with 10 rebounds, seven assists, and six steals. Kaitlyn Fiorino also contributed tallied 10 points.

King's was also keyed by its domination of the boards, out-rebounding Lycoming 55-38 while a solid defensive effort limited the Warriors to just 27-percent shooting form the floor.

King's will return to action Saturday when the Lady Monarchs travel to Madison, NJ to face FDU-Florham at 1:00 p.m.
