KING'S WOMEN HOSTING LYCOMING
WILKES-BARRE -- Andrea Hochstuhl posted game-highs of 20 points and 12
rebounds to lead the King's College women's basketball team to a 70-52
victory over Lycoming Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win, King's improved to 7-7 overall and 2-1 in the MAC Freedom
Conference. Lycoming, meanwhile, slipped to 3-9 and 0-3.
Lycoming would remain close throughout the first half. After King's
built two separate leads of six points, the Warriors would respond to
tie the score. With the game tied 30-30, King's Casey Heitman gave
the Lady Monarchs a 32-30 halftime lead on a bucket with 0:02 left.
In the second half, King's would slowly extend the lead and took a 60-46
advantage with 8:08 left on a three-pointer from Kaitlyn Fiorino. After
a Lycoming bucket, the Lady Monarchs went on a 7-0 run, capped by three
foul shots from Lauren Kendra with 4:06 to put the game away as King's
lead swelled to 67-48.
Beth Jordan added 15 points, eight rebounds, and five assists while
Fiorino netted 10 points. Kendra chipped in with seven points, five
boards, four assists, and four steals.
Lycoming was paced by Andrea Cooper with 13 points while Amy Kile and
Marissa Hastings tallied 12 and 10 points respectively.
The King's women will return home Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. conference
game against DeSales University.
