KING'S WOMEN DEFEAT DELAWARE VALLEY, 68-45

  DOYLESTOWN (PA) – Beth Jordan scored 20 of her game-high 26 points as King’s College, ranked 24th in Division III, came from behind for a 68-51 road victory at Delaware Valley College in a Freedom Conference game.                 

The win kept the Lady Monarchs undefeated at 6-0 (2-0 Freedom) while the Aggies fell to 3-3, 0-2 with the loss.

Delaware Valley scored the final five points of the first half as Beccie Strohecker hit a 3-pointer and Kate McCarthy made a pair of free throws to give the Aggies a 32-30 advantage at intermission.

Delaware Valley extended the lead to five as Shannon O’Neill hit a trey, but King’s scored the next six points for a one-point advantage. 

The teams went back and forth and the game was still tied at 45-45 before the Lady Monarchs scored 23 of the game’s final 29 points for the 17-points victory.

Jordan was behind the run as she scored 16 of the 23 points. She finished the game 9-for-15 from the field and a perfect 8-for-8 from the foul line. Jordan also added six rebounds, four steals and three assists in 32 minutes of action.

Kristen Yeasted and Jenna Palumbo also reached double figures with 12 and 11 points respectively while Katie Lala added nine points and a game-high five assists.

King's will next host 2004 NCAA national qualifier Gwynedd-Mercy College Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. in ScandlonGymnasium.
