WOZNIAK NETS 24 TO LEAD KING'S WOMEN OVER CABRINI
RADNOR -- Jen Wozniak scored 22 of her game-high 24
points in the first half to lead the King's College women's basketball
team to a 70-59 victory over host Cabrini College Sunday in Radnor.
With the win, King's improved to 3-1 while Cabrini
fell to 1-3.
The Lady Monarchs jumped out to a 20-9 lead with
10:06 left in the half on eight points from Wozniak and six from Kristin
Yeasted. King's would extend the lead to 31-16 on a bucket by Katie Lala
and an offensive rebound and basket with 3:39 left.
The Lady Monarchs closed out the half with a 9-2 run on three more baskets
by Wozniak, consecutive lay-ups by Yeasted and Tiffini Varrasse, and a
foul shot from Jess Ohrin as King's took a comfortable 40-21 lead into the
half-time break.
Yeasted posted a pair of career-highs with 14 points
and 13 rebounds while Varrasse netted eight points with five steals.
Jen Wessell led Cabrini with 14 points while Jen
Skursky added 10.
King's will travel to face cross-town rival Wilkes
on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Marts Center.
