KING'S WOMEN'S CAGERS POST 87-78 WIN OVER SALISBURY
ARLINGTON, VA -- Jen Wozniak scored 27 points and
added 10 rebounds to lead the King's College women's basketball team to a
87-78 victory over Salisbury University in the second round of the
three-day, eight-team Marymount University Tip-Off Classic Saturday in
Arlington, Va.
King's (1-1) placed four players in double-figures
as junior center Kristin Yeasted added 14 points, senior forward Jennie
Orelli netted 11, and freshman guard Vienna Spitler added 10.
King's, which made just 19-of-53 shots in a 62-61
loss to Gettysburg on Saturday, fared much better offensively in their
second game of the season. The Lady Monarchs converted 43.2 (32-74)
percent of their shots and made 18-of-24 foul shots. Tiffini Varrasse
contributed eight points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Cindy Baral
came off the bench to snare nine rebounds with six points.
Kiera Watkins led Salisbury (0-2) with 23 points and
12 rebounds while Jessica Mills added 10 points.
King's will play Guilford College Sunday at 11:00
a.m. Guilford defeated Elizabethtown 70-63 on Saturday.
