KING'S WOMEN FALL TO FDU IN OVERTIME
MADISON, NJ -- The King's College women's basketball
team ended its regular-season on a sour note as the Lady Monarchs suffered
a 66-60 overtime upset loss to FDU-Florham Saturday in Madison, NJ.
The teams ended regulation deadlocked at 55-55, but
the Devils outscored King's 11-5 in the extra frame to earn the victory.
King's was paced by Jennie Orelli with 14 points and
nailed four three-pointers to break King's career record. Orelli has
totaled 130 three-pointers, breaking the previous mark of 127 set by Kim
Stetter from 1997-99. Beth Jordan added 12 points and eight rebounds while
Jen Wozniak chipped in with seven points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Monarchs ended the regular-season with a
record of 18-7 and a 9-5 MAC Freedom Conference mark.
King's is seeded third in the tournament will travel
to face second-seeded DeSales University in the semi-finals of the
conference playoffs Wednesday at 6:00 p.m.
