DESALES WOMEN DOWN KING'S, 79-72

WILKES-BARRE - Alyssa Antolick scored a game-high 32 points as the visiting DeSales University women's basketball team down King's College 82-61 Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, DeSales moved into sole possession of second place in the MAC Freedom Conference while improving to 17-3 overall and 7-2 in conference. King's dropped to third-place with records of 15-5 and 6-3.

King's would forge an 11-point lead midway through the first half but would only muster a pair of field goals the final 9:52 of the opening stanza. DeSales would chip away and eventually take a 30-28 lead on a three-pointer by Jen Netwall with 1:44 remaining in the half. The Bulldogs would then outscore King's 6-3 to take a 36-31 lead into the locker room.

In the second half, DeSales came out on fire with an 11-0 run to build a 46-33 lead with 16:27 remaining and the Lady Monarchs would never threaten again.

Jen Netwall scored 14 points with five assists while Holly Leibl and Amy Yencho chipped in with 11 and 10 points respectively.

King's was paced by Jennie Orelli with 14 points while Beth Jordan added 12.

The Lady Monarchs will host FDU-Florham Monday at 7:00 p.m
