LADY MONARCHS STEAMROLL LYCOMING 82-47
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's
College women's basketball team earned its sixth
straight win as the Lady Monarchs defeated
the Lycoming Warriors 82-47 in a MAC Freedom game Wednesday night at
Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win, King's earned its 10th straight game over Lycoming dating
back to the 1998-99 season.
Lycoming (6-5, 0-2 MAC Freedom) which netted just five first-half field
goals, fell behind 45-15 at the break. King's
(11-2, 3-0 MAC Freedom) opened up a 48-point lead (65-17) midway through the second
half and cruised the rest of the way.
Jen Wozniak and Colette
Makowiec each posted 11 points each in the victory.
Tiffini Varrasse chipped in with a team-high six assists and eight
points. Other Monarch contributors included Kristen Yeasted with
nine points and five rebounds, along with Cindy Baral who snared a
team-high six rebounds.
Rebecca Pugh had 15 points and
four rebounds for the Warriors.
King's will face fellow
Freedom Conference contender DeSales University Saturday at 1:00 p.m. in
Center Valley.
