LADY MONARCHS ROUTE WILKES, 80-48

WILKES-BARRE -- Senior guard Nikki Kingston scored a game-high 23 points and added seven rebounds to lead the King's College women's basketball team to a 80-48 victory over cross-town rival Wilkes University in an MAC Freedom Conference matchup in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win, King's improved to 20-3 overall and remained in a first place tie with DeSales University with a 11-2 conference mark.

Jen Wozniak added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Beth Jordan netted 10 points off the bench, Tiffini Varrasse chipped in with eight points, seven assists, five steals, and four rebounds.

Wilkes was paced by Andrea DeMaranville with 16 points and seven rebounds while Whitney Bull added 16 points and 11 rebounds.

The Lady Monarchs close out the regular-season Saturday at FDU-Florham in a 1:00 p.m. contest.

Should King's and DeSales both win, the MAC tiebreaker will be combined point differential versus opponents in all conference games. King's currently is ahead of DeSales by a 15-point differential. Should King's maintain their advantage, it will be awarded the top-seed and home court advantage throughout the MAC Freedom playoffs.
