KING'S WOMEN ROUTE LYCOMING, 70-36
WILKES-BARRE -- The King's College women's basketball team jumped out to a
21-2 start and never looked back as the Lady Monarchs posted a 70-36
victory over Lycoming College in an MAC Freedom Conference matchup
Wednesday in Scandlon Gymnasium.
With the win, King's improved to 13-2 overall and 4-1 in MAC Freedom
action.
Jen Wozniak ignited the run with eight points while Nikki Kingston added
six and Kristin Yeasted netted five. The torched the nets in the
opening stanza, shooting 54.1 (20-37) percent and took a commanding 45-13
lead at the break.
Kingston led the Lady Monarchs with 19 points, five rebounds, and four
assists in just 2 minutes. Wozniak finished with 12 points and six
rebounds in 23 minutes of play. Cindy Baral came off the bench to add
eight for the Lady Monarchs. Tiffin Varrasse enjoyed an outstanding
all-around game with six points, nine assists, and six steals in 20
minutes of action. All 16 Lady Monarchs saw action with 10 reaching
the scoring column.
Lycoming, which fell to 7-8
overall and 2-3 in MAC Freedom action, was ld by Lyndy LeVan with eight
points. Kate Kresge and Amy Herschman added seven each.
