HOCHSTUHL NAMED SECOND-TEAM DIVISION III PRE-SEASON ALL-AMERICAN

WILKES-BARRE -- King's College women's basketball standout Andrea Hochstuhl (Landenberg, Pa./St. Mark's, De.) has been selected as a second-team pre-season Division III All-American by D3Hoops.com.

A six-foot center, Hochstuhl comes off an outstanding junior year in which she was named a first-team Mid-Atlantic All-Regional selection by D3Hoops.com, while also garnering first-team All-Freedom Conference honors.

A year ago, Hochstuhl led King's to a 21-9 record as the Lady Monarchs fell one win shy of reaching the NCAA Division III National Tournament with a second-place finish in the Freedom Conference Tournament. King's would go on to place second in the Eastern College Athletic Conference Southern Region Championships.

On the year, Hochstuhl averaged 14.3 points, 9.8 rebounds and 63 blocked shots while registering 16 double-doubles (points-rebounds) on the year. Hochstuhl scored in double-figures in 24 of King's 30 games during the season.

During the 2006-07 campaign, she posted career highs of 27 against Delaware Valley, 17 rebounds twice, and blocked seven shots on two occasions. She was also a three-time Freedom Conference "Player of the Week" choice during the season. A three-year letter-winner and two-year starter at King's, Hochstuhl has totaled 756 points, 566 rebounds, and 95 blocked shots.

Hochstuhl and her King's teammates open the 2007-08 season Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the annual Marymount Tip-Off Classic.
