KING'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOPS NORWICH IN CONSOLATION GAME OF LADY MONARCH CLASSIC

WILKES-BARRE -- Kaitlyn Fiorino scored a career high 31 points and set a school record for three pointers made in a game with eight treys to lead King's College to a 79-61 victory over Norwich University in the consolation game of the Lady Monarch Invitational Tournament Saturday in Scandlon Gymnasium.

With the win King's improves to 6-7 on the year, while Norwich falls to 1-9 overall.

King's shot a red hot 51.6 (16-31) percent from behind the arc, and the 16 treys set a school record for three-pointers in a game.

King's jumped out to a commanding 46-23 lead at the half as Fiorino scored 18 of her 31 points in the opening stanza. Norwich would cut the lead to 75-57 after a layup from Ally Daniels, but would get no closer as the Lady Monarchs continued their hot shooting from the floor hitting 48.4 (30-62) percent from the floor to post the victory.

Fiorino was joined in double figures by Jenna Palumbo with 13 points and three rebounds. Kaitlyn Malshefski added seven points and six rebounds.

Norwich saw three players reach double figures led by Erica Rate with 14 points and three rebounds, Daniels with 13 points, and Jess Jaggars with 12 points. Norwich struggled from the floor only hitting on 37.5 (21-56) percent of their shots.
